Can't Find The Ocean

 

I spread all my boarding passes out across the bed

And holding the box where I've kept them I shake my head

The places I've been

That I've never seen

Whole years I can barely remember

Out on my own

I've skipped like a stone

That leaves no impression

And I can't find the ocean

And I cannot fight the waves

This has taken a year off of my life I can feel it

I slept for an hour or two but I didn't dream

Woke up with a headache still holding a magazine

I crawl through the phone

Just trying to get home

To close down the distance I've traveled

It's such a fine line

We try to unwind

And start to unravel

And I can't find the ocean

And I cannot fight the waves

This has taken a year off of my life I can feel it

And when I get home I feel further away

Like everything's falling

Millions of miles

And nothing has changed It feels like we're stalling

I can't believe that you'd wait for me

Still here you are
